COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – An Ohio State University fraternity has been suspended on allegations of hazing.

According to a release by a university spokesperson, the Dean of Students in the Office of Student Life has issued an interim suspension of Alpha Tau Omega based on allegations of hazing.

The university said the student organization has been temporarily discontinued pending a full investigation, which is being conducted by Student Conduct.

While suspended the chapter is not eligible “to participate in or host any recognized student organization activities, including but not limited to organizational meetings or programs, intramural sports, recruiting of new members, organizational social events, or any social events associated with other student organizations.”

The university said that the chapter must cease all new member activity during the suspension and that as required by Collin’s Law, Ohio’s anti-hazing law, law enforcement has been notified of the chapter’s alleged actions.
