CROOKSVILLE, Ohio (WCMH)  –  An elderly woman has died after being struck by a motorcycle Monday evening in Perry County.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, deputies received reports of a pedestrian struck by a motorcycle on State Route 93, near milepost 21, in Perry County’s Harrison Township.

The incident occurred Monday at approximately 5 p.m. when a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle was traveling southbound on SR 93 when it struck 82-year-old Ella Ebert, of Crooksville, who was in the roadway. Ebert was taken to a hospital in Columbus, where she was pronounced dead.

The operator of the motorcycle was treated for minor injuries at a Zanesville hospital and is expected to survive.

Deputies continue to investigate the crash. No charges have been filed as of Tuesday morning.
