JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WCMH) — A Lancaster man is dead after a crash with a semi-truck Thursday afternoon in Perry County. 

According to the Lancaster post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, William L. Konkler, 71, of Lancaster, was driving a 2021 Nissan west on State Route 37 near Jackson Township at about 3:10 p.m. 

The Nissan crossed the centerline and hit a 2022 International Semi traveling east on SR 37, police said. After the head-on collision, both vehicles came to a stop against the guardrail on the south side of the roadway. 

Konkler was pronounced dead at the scene; the driver of the semi-truck, a 42-year-old West Union man, was treated at the scene for minor injuries. 

Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash. 

The highway patrol was assisted at the scene by the Somerset Fire Department, Junction City Fire Department, Perry County Sheriff’s Office, Perry County Coroner, and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
