CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio (WCMH) – A Circleville man is dead after a head-on collision with a semi-truck Tuesday afternoon in Pickaway County.
According to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, a 911 call was received at 2:35 p.m. Tuesday about an explosion from an automobile accident on State Route 104, just north of Van Meter Road near South Bloomfield in Jackson Township.
When deputies arrived, it was discovered that a black 2020 Ford Mustang was traveling southbound on SR-104 when it veered left of center into the northbound lane. The Mustang struck the semi-truck head on, causing an explosion.
The driver of the Mustang, 20-year-old Nathaniel Johnston, of Circleville, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Kenworth semi-truck, a man from Georgia, was taken to an area hospital, but his condition is unknown.
Assisting in the ongoing investigation is the Harrison Township Fire and EMS, Pickaway Township Fire and EMS, Scioto Township Fire and EMS, the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Pickaway County Coroner’s Office.
