Man dead after Pike County motorcycle crash

PIKETON, Ohio (WCMH) – A motorcyclist is dead after crashing Wednesday morning in Pike County.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Caelem Knauff, 24, of Waverly was driving a Kawasaki motorcycle on State Route 124 near Waverly at around 10:30 a.m. He was wearing a helmet while driving the motorcycle, OSHP said.


Knauff was driving over a slight hill when the vehicle braked sharply and fell to its side. He then struck a guardrail and slid off the right side of the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Highway Patrol is investigating the crash with the Benton Township fire department.
