Power has been restored by Sunday evening for all but 21 households affected by Saturday’s windstorm, according to the AEP power outages map.

Sunday morning, nearly 2,000 AEP Ohio customers were still without power after high winds tore through central Ohio Saturday afternoon.

Saturday’s wind gusts blew over several poles, knocked down trees and caused widespread outages in the area. AEP Ohio crews worked through the night, taking the number of outages down from nearly 6,000 to a little over 1,900 as of Sunday morning.

On Saturday night, a spokesperson for AEP Ohio said crews worked to assess the damage and restore power. The spokesperson said at that time that customers should have power back around 6pm Sunday.
