COLUMBUS (WCMH) — As Reagan Tokes’ family continues to fight for change in hopes to prevent others from experiencing their same tragedy, they want to make sure other young women are prepared should they find themselves in danger.

Tokes was abducted on February 8, 2017 when walking to her car alone in the Short North.

She was found murdered the next day, and Brian Golsby is now serving a life sentence for the crime.

On June 7th, her family and friends will hold “Rally for Reagan Tokes – Actions Conquer Tragedy,” featuring discussions of laws that may have prevented Tokes’ murder, as well as self-defense techniques from black belt and self-defense expert Rob Fletcher.

The event will be held from 7pm to 9pm and is free, although a donation to the Reagan Tokes Scholarship Fund is requested.
