REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio (WCMH) – A restaurant known for its seafood and chicken wings recently opened in Reynoldsburg.

Dawn’s Fish and Chicken quietly opened at 1926 Brice Road last week. The eatery will hold an official grand opening in June, according to spokesperson Shenese Cox. The address was previously home to the restaurant Golden China, which closed in March after 31 years of business.

The fish and chicken joint got its start in August 2024 as a carryout kitchen at 2864 N. High St. in Clintonville, before it began searching for a brick-and-mortar location. The eatery briefly relocated to 134 Hamilton Road in Gahanna late last year, then planned to move Downtown. However, the business found a “better opportunity” in Reynoldsburg, Cox said.

The eatery is inspired by both Chicago and Southern cuisine. It serves fried fish, chicken wings, shrimp, and deep-fried lobster, as well as sides including mac and cheese, yams, okra and collard greens. Desserts including sweet potato pie and banana pudding are also on the menu.

Dawn’s Fish and Chicken is open on Tuesdays through Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and stays open one hour later on Fridays and Saturdays. Customers can choose to dine in, as well as order takeout or delivery through services including DoorDash and UberEats.
