SHELBY, Ohio (WCMH) – A Richland County woman is dead and a man was arrested one day later after a reported hit-skip Tuesday morning.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Mansfield Post of the OSHP received multiple tips leading to the arrest of 24-year-old Kaleb Fisher, who is accused of hitting a pedestrian and leaving the scene on Mickey Road in Shelby, northwest of Mansfield.
At 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, troopers were investigating a hit-skip crash on Mickey Road, near Martin Drive. The OSHP said 61-year-old Barbara Warner was walking near the edge of Mickey Road when she was struck by an unknown vehicle.
Warner was taken to Ohio Health Shelby Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. An investigation led troopers to identify Fisher and the Ford Edge he was allegedly driving.
Fisher was arrested Wednesday afternoon and taken to Richland County Jail. He is charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and tampering with evidence but has yet to appear in court for an arraignment hearing.
