Investigators believe speed was a factor in a single-vehicle crash that left one woman dead in Pike County.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers were dispatched to the area of Prussia Road and Pennington Road in Pee Pee Township just before 7pm Thursday on the report of a car accident. Investigators say Miranda Dunn, 38, of Chillicothe, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Impala south on Prussia Road when her car went off the right side of the road. Dunn overcorrected and the vehicle drove off the left side of the road, struck a tree and overturned.

Dunn was pronounced dead on the scene.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said speed was a contributing factor in the crash. The accident remains under investigation.
