LICKING CO., OH (WCMH) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol-Granville Post says an 81-year-old woman died in a crash on State Route 16 Thursday.

The Patrol says Shirley Ashbrook of Alexandria was westbound on SR-16 when her vehicle went left of center and hit a Peterbilt box truck on the side, then continued westbound and struck a Hyundai Elantra head-on. Ashbrook was driving a 2005 Buick LeSabre. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Hyundai was taken to Licking Memorial Hospital was non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the truck was uninjured.
