COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Middle and high school students from central Ohio participated in the 2019 Central Ohio Scholastic Art and Writing Awards Exhibition at CCAD Canzani Center Acock Gallery. Five pieces from nearly 1600 individual submissions will be nominated for the American Vision’s Award.
“We know the tremendous value of creative talent in today’s global economy,” said Jordan Smith, Director of Outreach Programs.
Columbus College of Art and Design will also offer scholarships ranging from $250 for students to attend pre-college programs.
Loretta Hacker, came downtown to look for her granddaughter’s painted selfie. “She had three of them,” said Hacker. “She’s drawn so many lovely, either painted, or drawn, so many lovely paintings.“
The works include ceramics, photography, paintings, and portfolios. They are on display at 60 Cleveland Avenue until February 22.
“It’s just amazing what these students learn. And the talent [they] are born with obviously because I can’t do it,” Hacker laughed.
