GAHANNA, Ohio (WCMH) — The main gym at Gahanna Lincoln High School played host to a special “Lions Thrift” event Monday.

The event was a free clothing swap event for students and staff.

In the weeks leading up to the event, collection bins were placed around the school to gather items.  The school’s student council put on this event and wanted to send a clear message to their fellow students.

“Promoting sustainability in the community and try to stop fast fashion, especially today, like there’s so many, like, big brands that just make so much, like, constantly and we honestly have a lot of fast fashion items in our collection, but we’re just trying to promote to the, like, younger generations that there is still like good items of clothing you can get second hand,” Gahanna Lincoln High School Student Council President Lily Resek said.

All of the items that were left over after Lions Thrift were packed up and donated to local charities.
