Two people dead, two injured in one-vehicle crash on south side

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Two people have died in a one-car crash that closed the ramp from I-270EB to US 23 on the city’s south side.

According to Columbus police, the crash happened around 12:25pm.


Investigators said a Dodge Journey swerved between the US 23 exit and Interstate 270 and struck the center attenuator.

The driver, 62-year-old Sheila Tucker of Cincinnati and 63-year-old Virginia Jones-Spears were killed in the crash.

Chiquita L. Spears, 38, was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. An 18-month-old girl was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in stable condition.
