COLUMBUS (WCMH) – Damaging winds ripped across central Ohio Sunday, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.

A strip mall on Kenny Road had its metal awning torn off several store fronts.

In Union County, a broken power poll caused a portion of US-33 West to close due to low power lines.

AEP reported close to 27,000 customers without power in the Columbus and surround areas.

One woman was killed when a tree fell into a home in Harrison Township in Montgomery County near Dayton, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said.
