Police are investigating after a woman was shot and killed during a home invasion in northeast Columbus. 

According to the Columbus Division of Police, at about 10:55pm, Thursday, officers were called to the 1500 block of Vendome Drive South on the report of a shooting. 

When officers arrived on scene they found Christie Debra Howard, 41, lying on the floor inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound. Howard was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told police that unknown suspects forced entry into the back of the home and shot Howard several times. The suspects then ran from the area in an unknown direction. 

Police say there are no known suspects or motives at this time.
