MILWAUKEE, WI (WCMH) — A Wisconsin man is facing stalking charges after police say he mailed a live ball python to his ex-girlfriend.
Police charged Eric Burrows, 37, with stalking and domestic abuse.
Officers say Burrows had been sending threatening letters to his ex-girlfriend’s job. He also had been leaving threatening messages at her apartment complex and had sent her more than 50 emails in an attempt to rekindle the relationship.
Police tell WITI-TV that on August 18th, a suspicious package was delivered to the victim’s apartment complex. She called police who took the package in for an x-ray.
That’s when they discovered the snake along with a note that read, “Surprise you lying (expletive). Enjoy, this is who you are. Now do you care.”
Police then took Burrows into custody and started looking through his cell phone history. They found multiple website searches involving the victim and also search results for phases such as “what is stalking a person” and “how do you know if you are stalking someone,” WITI-TV reports.
