COLUMBUS (WCMH) – One man is dead after a shooting in south Columbus.

The shooting happened around 9:52pm Friday near the intersection of Parsons Avenue and Olpp Avenue.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, officers found 38-year-old Charles Eugene Staten unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound at the scene. Staten was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead at 11:23pm.
