ALAMOSA, CO (WCMH) – A man who was wanted for assault spent five hours in a tree after failing to escape from police.
Colorado Springs police said Lane Scott Malouff, 30, assaulted the mother of his two children. He is accused of threatening her with a weapon and trying to strangle her during the attack.
The woman was treated by EMS for her injuries.
Officers later attempted to arrest Malouff, who then climbed a tree in order to avoid being taken into custody according to police.
Police told KKTV that officers used tear gas and a fire hose to try and convince Malouff to come down.
After nearly six hours, Malouff was taken into custody.
He is being held on a $150,000 bond.
