Man wanted in connection with two bank robberies

UPDATE: The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says Brent Gibney was arrested following NBC4’s original story and taken to the Franklin County Jail. On October 1, he was found unresponsive in his jail cell and taken to Grant Medical Center where he died several days later. The coroner’s report says no foul play is suspected in his death. NBC4’s original article is below.

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus Police are looking for a 28-year-old man suspected of robbing two banks in the past two weeks. 


Brent Gibney is wanted for robbing the PNC Bank at 1699 Holt Road on Jan. 31, 2017 and the Fifth Third Bank at 1669 Holt Road on Feb. 3, 2017. A warrant is out for his arrest.
