MASSILLON, OH (WCMH)–Police in Massillon say they are looking for a man posing as a police officer who abducted a 9-year-old girl from a downtown sidewalk on Monday night.

According to WKYC, the girl was walking home from the library when she was approached near St. Mary’s Church. The man reportedly said he was a police officer and that she had been reported missing. The suspect transported her “a short distance” and assaulted her.

She is currently in stable condition at a local hospital. Police told NBC affiliate WFMJ that the girl was able to walk home.

Police posted photos of the vehicle on Facebook. The man was reportedly driving a dark grey Ford F-150 STX. The truck has “dark tinted windows, a black tool box mounted in the back and (2) skull stickers on the extended cab passenger side window. There are also unknown white stickers on the rear window of which one may have the text “Ohio”. The truck also has a bug deflector on the hood and vent shades on the side windows.”

The man is described as a middle-aged white man with brown hair and a scruffy beard, according to the Massillon Independent.
