BOONVILLE, Mo. (WCMH) — Annheuser-Busch announced the birth of the newest Budweiser Clydesdale Tuesday morning.

Mac was born at 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, according to a Facebook post from the company’s Warm Springs Ranch.

Mom and baby Mac are both happy and healthy, according to the post.

Warm Springs Ranch is the company’s Clydesdale breeding facility and is home to more than 100 Clydesdales.

Should Mac meet the requirements, he could travel across the country by 2020. According to Annheuser-Busch, “to qualify for one of the traveling hitches, a Budweiser Clydesdale must be a gelding at least four years of age, stand 72 inches at the shoulder when fully mature, weigh between 1,800 and 2,300 pounds, have a bay coat, four white legs,a white blaze, and a black mane and tail.”

The tradition of the Budweiser Clydesdales started in 1933 when they made their first-ever appearance as a gift from August A. Busch, Jr. and Adolphus Busch to their father in celebration of the repeal of Prohibition.
