Miracle German shepherd surviving thanks to special chair

BOISE, ID (WCMH) — Elijah, the German shepherd suffers from a condition that doesn’t allow solid food to travel to his stomach, but thanks to a special chair and caring people, he’s managing to survive.

According to KBOI, Eli has to eat five times a day in his specially made chair that helps gravity move his food to his stomach.

“A ring was growing over the esophagus from the heart that normally should have broken down during development and it didn’t,” said Dr. Baxter, with the Ada Animal Hospital. “It allowed milk to pass through but not solid food.”

Eli has been using the chair for almost four weeks now and it’s been a huge success. He now plays in the dog park just like all the other puppies, thanks to caring people and his chair.
