MARIN COUNTY, CA (WCMH) – Afeni Shakur Davis, the mother of the late rapper, Tupac Shakur has died. She was 69.

Officials say they responded to a report of a possible cardiac arrest at 9:34pm Monday night at Davis’ home in Sausalito, CA. She was transported to the hospital where she died at 10:28pm.

The Marin County Sheriff’s Department took to twitter to confirm the death.

Davis was the subject of Tupac’s iconic 1995 hit “Dear Mama.” She was also a Black Panther as a young adult and an activist in later years.

The Coroner is leading the investigation to determine her exact cause of death.What others are clicking on:
