FORT BEND, TX (WCMH) — One man is dead after a domestic disturbance with his girlfriend’s teenage children on Tuesday.
According to KPRC, when deputies arrived at the girlfriend’s home around 11:20 a.m. in the 14000 block of Panhandle Drive, they found Bennett White, 40, dead on the front porch.
Investigators say he got into a fight with his girlfriend’s children, Darlecia Johnson, 17, Lavaris Harris, 19, and a 16-year-old son while the mother was at work. There was also a 3-year-old girl in the house.
The mother came home for her lunch break to find her boyfriend shot to death. Investigators say the gun, which belongs to the mother – who is a security guard – was found in a neighbor’s backyard.
Harris was arrested and has been charged with murder. The other two children are in custody and facing murder charges as well. The 16-year-old is at the Fort Bend County Juvenile Detention Center. Johnson and Harris are in the Fort Bend County Jail. They will go before a judge Wednesday morning.
“With the kids involved it’s always shocking,” Ed Smith who lives down the street told KPRC.
The victim’s mother tells KPRC he was 40-years-old and had been living at the home with his girlfriend for a few months. She says she has no clue why her son was shot. What others are clicking on:
