COLUMBUS (WCMH) — You can expect major delays if you’re traveling on the northwest side of Columbus this weekend.
Friday night at 9pm, ODOT will shut down I-270 Northbound from Tuttle to US 33. All 270 north traffic will be forced to exit at Tuttle Crossing Blvd and then turn right. They’ll then take a left on Frantz Road, left into 33 west and then take the ramp back to 270 north.
Starting Saturday at 11 p.m., I-270 South will be closed at US 33. 270 south traffic will be forced to exit at 33 west, then take Avery-Muirfield Dr and turn left. Traffic will then go left onto 33 east before taking the ramp back to 270 south.
This closure was originally scheduled for Sunday–all other closures have been pushed up and are reflected below.

- 7 PM: I-270SB reduced to three lanes between Sawmill Rd. and US 33.
- 9 PM: I-270NB reduced to two lanes between Tuttle Crossing Blvd. and US 33.
- 9 PM: I-270SB reduced to two lanes between Sawmill Rd. and US 33.
- 9 PM: The ramp from US 33EB to I-270NB closed. Detour: I-270SB to Tuttle Crossing Blvd. to I-270NB. (NOTE: At 10:30pm, traffic detoured I-270SB to Tuttle Crossing Blvd. EB to Frantz Rd. NB to US 33WB to I-270NB)
- 9 PM: The ramp from US 33WB to I-270SB closed. Detour: US 33WB to Avery-Muirfield Dr. to US 33EB to I-270SB.
- 10:30 PM: The entrance ramp from Tuttle Crossing Blvd. to I-270NB closed. Detour: Tuttle Crossing Blvd. EB to Frantz Rd. NB to US 33WB to I-270NB.
- 11 PM: I-270NB full closure. Traffic forced to exit at Tuttle Crossing Blvd. Detour: Tuttle Crossing Blvd. EB to Frantz Rd. NB to US 33WB to I-270NB.
- 11 PM: The ramp from I-270NB to US 33WB closed. Detour: Tuttle Crossing Blvd. EB to Frantz Rd. NB to US 33WB.
- 11 PM: I-270SB reduced to one lane between Sawmill Rd. and US 33.
- 6 AM: All lanes open.
FRIDAY, JULY 8 (NEW) US 33EB Lane Closure for Ramp I-270NB to US 33EB Traffic Switch
- 9pm US 33EB reduced to one lane between Emerald Pkwy. and Post/Frantz Rd.
- 5am all lanes open
SATURDAY, JULY 9I-270SB Full Closure for Steel Girder Erection
- 8 PM: Setup I-270SB detour turnaround MOT on Avery-Muirfield Dr.
- Ramps from Avery-Muirfield Dr. to US 33 EB & WB closed. Detour: Avery-Muirfield Dr. NB to Perimeter Dr. WB to US 33.
- Ramp from US 33EB to Avery-Muirfield Dr. closed. Detour: US 33 EB to SR 161/Post Rd. exit, turn left onto Post Rd. EB to Avery-Muirfield Dr.
- Ramp from US 33WB to Avery-Muirfield Dr. SB forced to Avery-Muirfield Dr. NB. Detour: Avery-Muirfield Dr. NB, U-Turn at Post Rd. roundabout to Avery-Muirfield Dr. SB.
- 8 PM: I-270SB reduced to three lanes between Sawmill Rd. and US 33.
- 9 PM: I-270SB reduced to two lanes between Sawmill Rd. and US 33.
- 9 PM: The ramp from US 33WB to I-270SB closed. Detour: US 33WB to Avery-Muirfield Dr. to US 33EB to I-270SB.
- 11 PM: I-270SB full closure. Traffic forced to exit at US 33WB. Detour: US 33WB to Avery-Muirfield Dr. to US 33EB to I-270SB.
