DAYTON, OH (AP) – A new commander is ready to take charge of a research laboratory at Ohio’s largest military base.

Maj. Gen. Robert D. McMurry officially will take over on Friday at the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

The science and research agency has a $4.4 billion budget and a workforce of about 6,000 military and civilian employees.

McMurry comes to Ohio from the Los Angeles Air Force Base in California, where he was vice commander of the Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center.What others are clicking on:
