New polls say Trump, Clinton leading in Ohio and Florida

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Donald Trump looks to be on his way to pick up two crucial wins that could seal the deal for the Republican nomination: Ohio and Florida.

New CNN/ORC polls show Trump is leading Gov. John Kasich in Ohio. Trump is polling at 41% to Kasich’s 35%. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz in third at 15%. Sen. Marco Rubio is in fourth with 7%.


The polls also show Trump is leading Rubio in his home state of Florida 40% to Rubio’s 24%. Cruz is at at 19% and Kasich at 5%.

For the Democrats, Hillary Clinton has a significant lead on Sen. Bernie Sanders in both states. Clinton leads Sanders 63% to 33% in Ohio and 61% to 34% in Florida.

The Ohio and Florida primaries are cticial for the Republicans as both are winner-take-all states. There are 99-delegates up for grab in Florida and 66-delegates here in Ohio.

Voters will decide in both states on March 15, as well as contests in Illinois, North Carolina and Missouri.
