NEW YORK CITY (WCMH)–Touting it as a “no-waste” delivery method, a New York City pizzeria has invented a pizza box made entirely out of…pizza!
Vinnie’s Pizza in Brooklyn Tweeted out a photo of the new creation, which one of the restaurant owners said will cost about $40.
Sean Berthiaume, one of the co-owners, told NBC New York that he decided to make the pizza box during a slow business day Wednesday He said the number of pizza boxes he sees in trash cans around Brooklyn served as inspiration for his experiment.
Berthiaume said the restaurant is still figuring out how to deliver its new creation without a box. He said the pizzeria may wrap it in foil and send it out in a bag.
Last year, Vinnie’s got some buzz on the Internet for creating a pizza topped with tiny pizzas.
“I like to experiment,” Berthiaume said. “Sometimes they work out, sometimes they don’t.”
