ATHENS, OH (WCMH) — Ohio University opened its student center overnight to anyone affected by a fire at an apartment complex in Athens on Sunday.

The university says no one is reportedly injured after the fire at Carriage Hill Apartments. Housing and Residence Life is working to help anyone who was displaced by the fire.

Donation stations have also been placed at Baker University Center.

The American Red Cross has also stepped in to help those affected in the 24 units of the complex.

The Red Cross provided assistance including food, clothing and temporary shelter, as well as emotional support to those affected.

“We’re deeply saddened for those who were impacted by this fire,” said Mary Lynn Foster, Chief Executive Officer, Ohio Buckeye Region.

Ohio University is supporting the lodging needs for its students.
