COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A daytime shooting in Northeast Columbus leaves one man dead and another hospitalized. As of Thursday night, police could not confirm the victims’ identities but did say they’re both white males.

The second victim is expected to survive.

It happened around 3 p.m. on Lindale Ave., just off Agler Road. Both men are believed to have been shot inside, but the surviving man crawled into the front yard and screamed for help. Muriah Gautier heard the screams, called 911 and talked to the victim while he waited for medical help.

“He was shot and holding his neck,” says Gautier. “Blood was everywhere.”

Multiple residents of the small neighborhood tell NBC4’s Matt Edwards that this type of violence is uncharacteristic of the neighborhood.
