COLUMBUS (WCMH) – One person is dead and another is injured after a shooting in west Columbus.

It happened around 12:01am on the 5400 block of Floral Circle South. According to Columbus Police, Justin Kendrix, 29, was transported in critical condition to Doctors West Hospital. From there, he was taken to Grant Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:25am.

The second victim, Shaunika Eakin, 37, was transported to Mount Carmel West in stable condition.

Police say the initial investigation indicates that an argument took place before the shooting, but the exact motive is unknown at this time.
