One man arrested, charged in ATM robberies in Prairie Township

PRAIRIE TOWNSHIP OH., (WCMH) — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says one man has been charged with aggravated robbery after robberies reported at an ATM in Prairie Township.

Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to two reports that a suspect robbed people using ATMs at a PNC bank and a Chase bank on West Broad Street.

The suspect showed a gun and demanded money. He fled on foot after each robbery.

Deputies searched the area and found Christopher Kohl, walking on West Broad St. in the area of a Huntington Bank. He was taken into custody.

Kohl now faces aggravated robbery charges.

Sheriff Zach Scott said it was thanks to great police work that a potentially dangerous criminal was taken off the streets.

“We will not tolerate this type of crime against our residents,” said Scott.

Kohl is being held at the Franklin County Jail.
