COLUMBUS (WCMH)– Columbus Police say one person is dead following an early morning shooting.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, at about 5:03am, Monday, officers were called to the rear of a residence in the 700 block of E. Mithoff Street on the report of a shots fired.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a 37-year-old man suffering from several gunshot wounds.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police identified the victim as 37-year-old Terrance D. Smith.
