WEST JEFFERSON, Ohio (WCMH) – Over a year ago, a hit-skip crash in Madison County left one man dead and another injured.

An investigation was conducted and several leads were followed, but no suspect or suspect vehicle has been identified. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is asking anyone to come forward if they have information about a suspect involved in the following incident that occurred March 3, 2015.

The Patrol says an unidentified semi-truck struck two men on eastbound Interstate 70 at mile marker 79 in Madison County around 3:30 a.m. Two commercial vehicle drivers, Douglas Griffin of Cleves, Ohio and Michael West of Cincinnati, were outside of their vehicles on the right shoulder of eastbound I-70.

Griffin was operating a white Volvo Semi that became disabled, and West arrived to help. The unidentified semi-truck that struck them both continued eastbound and did not stop. Griffin was pronounced dead at the scene. West received serious injuries that he is still recovering from.
