COLUMBUS (WCMH)–A total of 12 people died over the July 4 holiday in Ohio, according to information released by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The Patrol says impaired driving was a factor in 4 of the 11 fatal crashes reported from July 1-4 in the Buckeye State.

In 2015 over the July 4 holiday, 10 people died in 8 fatal crashes–3 of which were OVI-related, the Patrol said.

Overall, troopers made 673 arrests for impaired driving and 325 for drug-related charges.What others are clicking on:
