PERRY CO., Ohio (WCMH)–Sheriff William Barker announced that law enforcement officials in North Carolina arrested a man who was supposed to stand trial in Perry County in 2010.
Brian Barnes was wanted by the Perry County Common Pleas Court for failure to appear in Court on August 13, 2010, Barker said.
At that time, Barnes was scheduled to stand trial, where he was charged with two counts of illegal possession of chemicals for the use of manufacturing drugs, two counts of possession of weapons under disability, aggravated possession of drugs, illegal manufacturing of drugs, and aggravated possession of drugs.
Sheriff Barker said a joint investigation by officials in several states uncovered information about Barnes’ whereabouts, and he was arrested in Cherryville, N.C.
Barnes was arrested on September 9, 2009 with two other subjects at the address of 3530 Reading Township Road 123 in Junction City, Ohio after law enforcement officers discovered Barnes cooking methamphetamine inside a motor home at that location. Barnes was later released on bond and failed to appear for trial on August 13, 2010, at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest.
