COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH)–Shops across the country, including in Columbus, celebrated “Free Comic Book Day” Saturday.
The event has been held for 15 years, and is always held on the first Saturday in May. At the Laughing Ogre in Columbus, kids could get three special-edition comics for free, and adults could pick up two.
One man who does charity work as a superhero says Comic Book Day allows people to get into the world of comics.
“For me, superheroes are kind of our modern mythology,” said Aaron Einhorn, who was dressed as Captain America. “They are morality tales but they feature big, colorful, larger-than-life heroes and villains and it’s an easy explanation of good and evil. At their best, heroes inspire us to be better than who we are.”What others are clicking on:
