SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (WCMH) – The popular Pokemon Go app is getting gamers outside, but it also continues to lead to some unexpected discoveries.

In California, one of the Pokestops where players go to collect items happens to be at a halfway house where 35 people live, including sex offenders in recovery, according to KSBY.

The facility’s founder says he had nothing to do with placing the stop near his ranch.

Pokestops are placed at public places on the map where players can gather to collect items and lure the virtual creatures. It is not yet clear how to add or remove a Pokestop from the game.

In another recent case in Oregon, Players came across a loaded gun in a field while trying to capture a virtual creature.

“Without touching the gun, the brothers suspended their GPS search for virtual creatures, called 911 and awaited the arrival of Deputy Brian Wade,” Sgt. Fred Neiman with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office told KGW-TV.What others are clicking on:
