COLUMBUS (WCMH) – Columbus police are expected to release the identity of a person found dead in the Scioto River Tuesday afternoon.
The body of a man in his 20s was found around 1pm Tuesday in the river near Interstate 71 and Greenlawn Avenue. A police dive team was searching the area in connection with several missing persons investigations, according to police.
The Franklin County Coroner’s Office is expected to perform an autopsy Wednesday morning. Police consider the death suspicious.
Police are planning a news conference Wednesday morning to provide an update on the case.
