Police: fatal shooting on city’s west side was the result of domestic dispute

COLUMBUS (WCMH) – Police say two people are dead after a shooting on the city’s west side early Sunday morning.

Officers were called to the report of a shooting at 670 South Hague Avenue. Police found 43-year-old Nicole Caudill and 53-year-old Timothy Carney suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were unresponsive and were pronounced dead at 1:47am.

The suspect, 48-year-old John Henry, was later taken into custody in Fayette County without incident. He has been charged with two counts of murder.

Police learned that Henry and Caudill were romantically linked and the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute. Carney was not involved in the altercation and wasn’t originally Henry’s target.

Police say the incident remains under investigation.Keep checking NBC4i.com for real-time updates on this story. To get alerts for breaking news, grab the free NBC4 News App for iPhone or Android. You can also sign up for email alerts.
