COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus police are investigating a shooting on the city’s west side that has left one person dead.

According to Columbus Division of Police, at about 4:40am, officers were called to the 40 block of S. Terrace Avenue on the report of a shooting.

When officers arrived on scene, they found Shawn McDaniel, 28, suffering from a gunshot wound. McDaniel would be pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say there were other people in the house at the time of the incident and hope to learn more about the incident after questioning the individuals.
