DETROIT, MI (KRON) – Police have released additional details following the arrest of Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green.

The alleged incident occurred on Sunday around 2:30am outside a restaurant in the city where Draymond Green played for the Michigan State Spartans from 2008 to 2012.

East Lansing police on Wednesday released a report of the incident, reporting Green had a blood-alcohol level of 0.10 percent when he was tested later at a police station and he was not released until he was sober.

Michigan State football cornerback Jermaine Edmondson, told police that he was punched in the jaw by Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green in an incident that led to a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery.

Edmondson told police he was “choked” the previous night by two men who were with the NBA player at a bar, and then he was punched by Green when he tried to talk to him on Sunday. An officer says he saw a “slap.”

According to police, there were no injuries and Green was released on a $200 bond.

TNT analyst and NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley later defended Draymond Green’s actions.

“Good for Draymond Green,” Barkley said on Dan Le Batard’s ESPN Radio show Tuesday morning.

Barkley blamed the media for giving fans the power to disrespect and “say anything they want about these professional players.”

“Y’all make them feel like their opinion is important,” Barkley said. “Y’all have given these fans a voice where they think they can disrespect these players because of the amount of money they make and things like that. So, more power to Draymond for slapping the hell out of that kid, whoever he was.

Green is scheduled for arraignment July 20, and is facing a maximum of 93 days in jail and a $500 fine.What others are clicking on:
