NAGOYA, Japan (WCMH)–A father in Japan stabbed his 12-year-old son in the chest because he was not studying for a school entrance exam, media reported on Tuesday.
Kengo Satake, 48, told police he “argued with his son for not studying” before the test. His son, Ryota, was trying to get into one of the leading private junior high schools in the area.
Ryota was taken to the hospital on Sunday after Kengo allegedly stabbed him in the chest with a kitchen knife, a police spokesperson told local media. Kengo was arrested after hospital staff called police. The boy’s mother was reportedly at work.
