Police looking for woman accused of stealing purses from church daycare

COLUMBUS (WCMH)–Columbus Police are looking for a woman who allegedly stole several purses from a church daycare, and a man who allegedly helped her spend the stolen money.

Police released surveillance footage of the two suspects on Wednesday. The woman reportedly took the purses the morning of May 31 from the New Beginnings Assembly of God on Williams Road. She and her accomplice then allegedly went to several stores on South High Street and used the stolen credit cards.


The woman allegedly tried to use stolen checks to pay utility bills.

Police say the first suspect is a black woman with light skin and light hair, around 40 years old, 5’3″ and about 230 pounds. The second suspect is described as a black man, 6-6’1″ and about 250 pounds.
