COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A Columbus man is being accused of threatening to kill a Columbus Police officer.

Mustafa Abdoos-Saboor Iddeen, 30,   was arrested on Tuesday and is charged with Aggravated Menacing.

According to Columbus Police Iddeen called a police dispatcher Tuesday and stated that he was going to find where a particular officer lived and then he was going to kill that officer.

Iddeen was arraigned in Franklin County Municipal Court Wednesday morning.

A judge set his bond at $2,500.

Miranda Poindexter , Iddeen’s girlfriend, told NBC4 that her boyfriend didn’t mean it.

“He was playing, like he was just mad over the phone. “

Poindexter said that Iddeen was mad about not being able to get a set of keys back from police after they took him into custody after another recent unrelated incident at the couples’ home.

“He’s fine. He said he’s sorry . He said he didn’t mean it. He wish it never happened,” said Poindexter.

“It’s okay to be upset about a particular incident that maybe you were involved in. But once you start implying some kind of harm whether it’s “hey I’m going to punch in the mouth or hey I’m gonna  kill you”

and becomes criminal,” explained Sgt. Rich Weiner, Columbus Division of Police.

“There is a contentious climate right  now between some community members and law enforcement. That’s a fact,” said Weiner.

According to court documents Iddeen was charged with domestic violence back in 2012. He pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct.

Aggravated Menacing is a misdemeanor charge with a maximum penalty of six months in jail and/or a $1000 fine.What others are clicking on:
