GAINESVILLE, FL (WCMH) — A Florida police officer had quite the elaborate proposal for his girlfriend with plenty of backup.

In a video posted by the Gainesville Police Department, Officer Hickey asked the big question using a giant spray-painted mural on the famous 34th Street Wall. The mural read simply, “Ashley will you marry me?”

Hickey got down on his knee and is heard saying “I love you.” His girlfriend then grabbed the can os spray paint and wrote a big “YES” on the wall to let all of his fellow officers know her answer.

The Gainesville Police Department stressed that neither Hickey nor his fiancée will face charges for spray-painting the wall, which is known for being covered with layers of graffiti up to as many as 250 layers of paint. In fact, while its technically illegal, police have never fined anyone for using the wall to express art.

The Police Department also noted that there were other officers patrolling the streets when the proposal took place saying, “Cops get a lunch break just like everyone else.”
