CHATTANOOGA, TN (WKRN/WCMH) – Chattanooga police say an officer has been shot Thursday.
Police told WRCB that the officer was shot three times, and was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
According to the police department’s Twitter account, the suspect remains at large.
He is described as a black man who is around 6 feet tall. He was last seen wearing a dark color hooded sweatshirt with large lettering on it.
Police say the suspect could be armed and dangerous.
An update on the officer’s condition was not immediately known.
At least seven schools in the area are on varying lockdowns while police search for the shooter.
