Power out around Central Ohio after popup storms

COLUMBUS (WCMH)–More than 4,200 people are without power in Franklin County, AEP Ohio is reporting.

In Olde Towne East, a tree was struck by lightning, knocking out a line and leaving the area without power. Resident Makeeya Moore said her friend’s car had part of a tree fall on it.

Pop-up storms on Sunday knocked power out to customers in Ross County, as well, with about 550 people in the dark as of 10:00 p.m.

“We don’t have any electricity so we can’t eat or drink or anything,” she said.

Some power is being shut off to the Village of Jeffersonville because some power lines are on fire, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says.
