Prosecutor: Man broke into Powell homes to steal from sleeping victims

POWELL, OH (WCMH) — A 19-year-old man faces multiple burglary and theft charges after allegedly entering Delaware County homes while people slept.

Officials from the Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office said Edward M. Green, of Powell, was charged in connection to several thefts reported in Powell on July 7 and July 10.


“Authorities received calls from several Powell residents reporting someone had been inside their homes while they slept,” said Delaware County Prosecutor Carol O’Brien. “Items reported missing from the homes and also several motor vehicles include purses, credit cards, checks and other personal items, some of which were recovered during the course of the investigation.”

Green was charged with four counts of theft, three counts of burglary, two counts of receiving stolen property and one count of identity fraud, all felony charges.

Bond has been set for Green at $30,000. He is scheduled for trial on Sept. 20.What others are clicking on:
